Have just got back from this hotel after a long weekend break with 15 members of my family. First impressions are that the hotel is very clean and the staff are very helpful. It seems that the hotel is being updated. We had 8 rooms altogether and they were all of much the same standard. My room (10) was the smallest of the rooms, but it was clean and comfortable.
The restaurant and bar areas are very comfortable. Breakfast is of a good quality and there is lots of variety to choose from. Tea, coffee and toast is plentiful, as we asked for extra of these every day. We had one evening meal which was absolutely fine.
The swimming pool, although not large or very deep, is ok for a weekend break. The sauna is excellent lovely and hot. My only complaint was that the jacuzzi did not seem very clean, although the pool and surrounding area were cleaned every night.
Prices in the bar are not that bad, although we did drink our own wine and champagne.
Torquay itself was very disappointing, but perhaps that was down to the time of year that we travelled.
All in all we had a great time and would definately go back.
